One street off can make a difference

Showing someone a home or a homesite on the wrong street can really mess up a sale.

Even though it might be in the same neighborhood or community, just one street over or up or down from the correct one can make a critical difference when someone is looking for a home. We are careful to avoid such mistakes.

Now take your typical computer keyboard. A similar dramatic and important difference exists between the top row of letters and the second row - and the other rows for that matter.

I’m really talking about the “r” and the “f” as in “or” and “of” – 2 commonly used words in speech and text - and 2 that I invariably manage to mistype with great frequency.

I don't intentionally use the wrong word - I know the difference. It's just that my fingers and brain don't always coordinate with each other. And to make matters worse, spell check won’t help here - both words are spelled correctly as words - just not for the context!

Of” something has a whole lot different meaning than “or” something as in “piece of pie” not “piece or pie.” Sometimes the mistakes are so obvious that the correct meaning can be discerned anyway. Other times, you might wonder what I'm trying to say.

If you are looking at one of my posts and it doesn’t seem to read correctly, maybe I used the wrong 2-letter “o” word. Sorry. I'll try to do better the next time.
