Trying Too Hard

Ever want something so bad that we just try too hard and get in our own way? We essentially sabotage ourselves with our actions.

It's not intentional, but our greed to accomplish something shuts down our other systems.

Sometimes we need to make a sale, and we push. We try to convince someone who is not interested or not qualified to buy because we need to make a sale.

Maybe we want to make a particular sale because we consider it to be a personal triumph.

We might want to win a race and train so hard that we injure ourselves or become so fatigued and worn out that we can't even compete.

Being motivated, driven, and determined are fine when it helps us channel our energies into achieving our goals, but we must keep them in check. Being overzealous will often cause us to stumble and fail.

Persistence is good. A measured effort is good. Too much intensity means we are trying too hard.
