Enthusiasm Counts For A Lot

Today, I was on the phone talking with several people as I was shopping to replace a computer. Most of them were extremely pleasant to talk with and quite enthusiastic about their products and about helping me - very refreshing at anytime of year but especially two weeks before Christmas.

Only one person that I spoke to seemed to be in the wrong business. Everyone else was a credit to their company and the sales profession as they went out of their way to identify what I wanted and to make suggestions. Even when what they recommended was out of stock, they pursued another solution with equal energy and enthusiasm.

There are still good salespeople in retail - you just have to know which companies have them and which ones don't. Unknowingly, one person convinced me to refrain from doing business with their company again. The others all gave me great reasons to work with them and their companies.
