Seizing Opportunities

Sometimes opportunities present themselves to us in a way that we chose to defer.

We might see an interesting scene that we'd like to photograph as we are driving to an appointment. We tell ourselves that we'll stop on the way back. On the return trip, the lighting or weather has changed, we can't find it coming from the other direction, we are in a hurry and can't stop, or we return a different way.

Sometimes we play to tie rather than win - thinking we can win in overtime. That rarely is the winning strategy.

Sometimes we'll put off meeting someone that we see at a gathering, thinking there will be a better time.

Opportunities are place in front of us for a reason. Not all can be acted upon, but telling ourselves they will still be there later is not a good response.
