In the Winter Olympics, I have seen several contests where one of the participants made a mistake - an equipment failure, a miscalculation, or a fall. That seemingly spelled doom for them, but they got back into the competition as soon as they could and continued on. No one got first place from doing this, but some placed very high. The alternate was just giving up and not finishing at all.
We can learn from this that getting back in the game and not giving up is the key to success. When we stumble or falter. we just need to make whatever adjustments are necessary and keep going.
