Our Expectations Are Important

When we enter a contest of any kind - sales, shopping, sports, trivia, or literally anything - we start with certain expectations. Based on our ability, our preparation, how much we know about the contest, our physical or mental ability, and our attitude, we predetermine how well we think we might do. That goes a long way toward determining the final outcome, but it is not the only factor.

Still our expectations can guide and govern our behavior, our effort, and our commitment to an endeavor.

Stated another way, our mental attitude figures prominently into our performance.
